High Pressure Coolant: When it comes to change people tend to be reluctant at first. This is especially true in the metal cutting industry. Those in the business, who initially worked with the older manual machines, struggled with the idea of bringing in the modern CNC machining centers despite the obvious advantages. Now the hesitance surrounds the addition of high pressure coolant. The thought of increasing cutting speeds by 30%, or more, is seen by some as impossible. ChipBLASTER president Gregory Antoun has seen this disbelief time and time again. "I do seminars around the world and I ask everyone in attendance to estimate the time it would take them in their shop to drill a .125" +- .001" diameter hole 1.300" deep in 1018 steel. The average result for each group time study is almost always between 45 and 60 seconds per hole. This is the average over thousands of intelligent people in our industry. The hole can be made with high pressure coolant in 1.2 seconds with an expected tool life of at least 4000 holes." ChipBLASTER’s high-pressure, high-volume coolant systems solve problems with heat, chips, and lubricity to effectively eliminate damage to tooling and prevent unnecessary wear. The elimination of these problems increases process control. The idea is that as the variation in any part of a process is controlled, every other part of the process can then be optimized. This creates a never-ending process of improvement. One breakthrough leads to another, and speeds and tool life that seem impossible, become the norm. Because of this, ChipBLASTER has quickly become one of the world’s foremost leaders in the field. And those barriers which have blocked the path of new technology in the past are quickly being toppled. Watch the video: What is High Pressure
